El Santo is a god in Mexico but that's pretty much the only place anyone cares. Not that that's a small feat since Mexico and Japan are the only real places for wrestling in the world but the fact still stands.

When it comes to fame of today, more people today know Rey than El Santo

More zoomers might know Rey over Santo but Rey will never have the legacy that Santo left. Countless movies and tv appearances, as other anons have said he was the GOD of lucha libre. Rey and it's not even close. Santo is popular in wrestling circles and in Lucha areas, but to the general public Rey is vastly more well known due to his runs in WWE.
