>>4946463The Lucha garbage isn't going away soon, this current iteration of MLW is supposed to be the revival of Lucha Underground.
I prefer 2018 & 2019 era myself which had a much more Mobster vibe to it between Shane Strickland, Salina & Tom Lawlor, but the heavyweight champ during later 2018, early 2019 was Low-Ki which is fucking ridiculous.
I missed the Shane Strickland/Swerve era so I'm not sure if they just lacked heavyweights at the time but how the fuck did it go to Low-Ki?
His run was good though, only coz he had Salina De La Renta speaking for him. She's legit better on the mic than most of the people currently on the AEW roster. Andrade is currently going for a Cartel role, but I felt nobody in wrestling ever did that angle better than MLW did through Salina.
Contra Unit were the shit back in 2019, because they were doing oldschool 80s era Heel bullshit and lighting people on fire, and slamming nails into wrestlers' faces.
Then Contra Unit got boring sometime around 2020 since they were probably forced to tone down their style. Back in 2019, they really felt like a true terrorist organization and my fave feud from MLW had to be Contra Unit vs Promociones Dorado. That Jacob Fatu vs LA Parka Heavyweight Championship match was like a battle of the monsters. It was the fight that I was hoping Hammerstone vs Fatu would've lead up to but it just wasn't as badass as the La Park match.
>>4946504Meh I don't care because it just reminds me of non-WWF wrestling from back in the 80s & 90s, back in the days when it used to be extremely gritty & somewhat ghetto. Wrestling is supposed to be grimy, not this model like, highly corporate talent agency bullshit that WWE goes for and whatever the fuck gayness that AEW is supposed to be.
