>>4958039>Ah yes, the political right, notable for their voracious use of identity politics and cancelling. The Reagan coalition that formed the modern Republican party was built on identity politics and cancel culture. You'd have to ignore moments like Reagan's states' rights appeals, Lee Atwater's infamous 1981 interview, the life and career of Trent Lott, the vote on the Dyer anti lynching resolution of 2005, the birtherism conspiracies towards Obama, Mike Braun saying within the last 48 hours that interracial marriage was a states' rights issue, and more to believe that the political right hasn't been reliant on identity politics for 40+ years.
Then when it comes to cancel culture you'd have to twist or ignore the moral panics from the right around Dungeons and Dragons, violent video games, Witchcraft in schools during the McMartin Case and later with Harry Potter, the Sharia law panics around 2010, or the CRT scare now. All manufactured "crises" to cancel political opponents and perceived enemies.
The right doesn't just rely on identity politics and cancel culture, they invented it.
