>>4975558>I get that they want to feature younger guys but holy shit at some point you gotta cut your lossesFeaturing younger talent is inherently a good thing. What's baffling is that he puts talents like Lee Moriarty, Dante and Garcia over out of nowhere.
AEW has/had a loyal fanbase who watched wrestlers like, Sammy, Jungle Boy, Darby, Wardlow, Eddie Kingston, Ricky Starks and so on get built up in the company. The fans invested interest in them. Tony/EVPs invested them in stories and bookings. You care about them and want to see them keep growing. So why the fuck do they suddenly stop being featured on TV and instead you get random shitters that you invested no prior interest before and is forced to watch in the main event?
This is at its core very very baffling. It's as if you'd watch RAW in 96-97 and get interested and watch every week to see someone interesting like The Rock or Mankind. Put then right out of nowhere, you'd suddenly see some unknown indie guy booked in the main event together with some oldfag like Seargent Slaughter that you have no prior knowledge or interest of beforehand. I'd say it's historically one of the weirdest bookings in history. It's much worse and amateur-ish than TNA.
In Russo era WCW, ratings plummeted because you had unknown guys like Natural Born Thrillers, Harris Boys, Reno etc suddenly being featured prominently. You had invested your interest in guys like DDP, Raven, Eddie, Saturn, Benoit, Rey Mysterio, Jericho but the majority of them left in the end and never got a shot to shine because they were wedged between the oldfags like Hogan and Nash and the Russo era unknowns. This is what's happening with the Miros, Darbys, Pentas and so on. So yeah, fuck AEW, at this point they're no different than WWE
