You have guys like Savage and Luger who basically just retired from the public life after their runs and then you have guys like Flair who made several lifetimes worth of money and have to resort to selling their children off to marks. I don't even think Hogan was particularly smart with his money, he just made so much of it that it would be practically impossible not to live well. Dusty Rhodes made money hand over fist for almost a decade and still had substantial paychecks coming in all the way to WCW folding and he was still working out of necessity almost to his death.
It's kind of the same for almost all people who suddenly come into huge amounts of money without any financial background, especially if they make all of that when they are young and get used to that lifestyle.
