The last time I attempted to watch WWE and there was three grown men cutting a promo that I’m sure killed them inside to choke out complete with mid promo dance break and it was during the pandemic era where they had to talk to screens like it was a live crowd. WWE is a sterile corporate product. Getting embarrassed by anything they do is like getting embarrassed by McDonald's or Walmart.
A company like AEW, which is supposed to be a serious "wrestling" promotion, as opposed to WWE's "sports entertainment," is far more embarrassing to me.

The seethe comes from a long gone past where the company seemed to respect its fans in any sense whatsoever. There was a time where it was a part of the cultural zeitgeist and people became invested in it during its peak. It naturally would upset people to see it betray them again and again while they hope that things will return to the good old days. It’s sad that they can’t move on, but it’s not a good comparison to draw parallels with McDonalds. Better off with something like the NBA making basketball purists seethe because it’s a bastardisation of the sport that they know and love, and will only continue to make it worse and worse.
