Okada is not the guy anymore neither is Naito. Have them not win the main hebby for at least 3 years. Have them barely in the title picture. NJPW has an amazing roster that idles by while Naito, Okada, Ibushi and whoever is the leader of bullet club gets all the attention

Cut 3/4s of the junior heavyweight roster, limit of one flippy-shit match for every major card (WK, Climax etc), no flippy-shit matches on less important cards.

Main events and feuds will now be a mixture of shoot/kings road style matches. If colour is used, it must be done hardway.

6-man tags will now be used in a very limited capacity instead of being used to build every single feud.

More 'suit and tie' style media scrums (like the G1 pressers) including more formal post-event media scrums.

Weigh-ins a day or two before all cards.

NJPW could shit all over AEWs 'spots-like presentation' and it would be embarrassing. Combine the best camerawork in the world with an ACTUAL sports style presentation and you're back to being the 1st/2nd best promotion in the world.

Three man tags serve their purpose. Good for getting everyone on the card, and for allowing preview matchups without making either guy look weak. If you're building to Okada Naito, three man tag, and just have Shingo pin Nagata for the finish. Good stuff.
The problem is now how much they're diluting the shows. The cup really should have been six or seven shows, with one or two preview tags and then a bunch of tournament matches. Instead it was fifteen or sixteen shows, all with useless filler and two or three equally uninteresting tournament matches.

Untrue, this has been their go-to move for years when the promotion was white hot because it meant extra coin from their near infinitely hungry fanbase. That's the entire reason we have 2 night Wrestle Kingdoms now. It just serves a different purpose on top of that.
