They already did it, his name was Kane.
Next great big guy they get they could say he's Kane or Carder's son and keep the spooky big guy legacy going but WWE creative doesn't do lore nowadays unless it's the wrestler doing it like Bray and we all saw how that worked out.

And all they needed to do was this as often as Taker did, which was only 4 or 5 times a year. Booking wrestling really isn't that difficult.

Kane wasn't the next Undertaker though. He was a spin-off gimmick meant to be fed to Taker. I love Kane, but his ceiling was never as high as a result, and his career illustrates this.
