Yes, it’s fine but the reality is that the opportunity cost is too high.
Ie: the cost of swinging WWE stocks would gain you less profits than just investing in a bluechip tech company (like Apple or Amazon) and holding longterm.
But as you say, yes if you can time the swing you can definitely make profit on it (and pay taxes).

here's some actual advice

wwe would probably have a similar jump, probably 15% or so depending on what they announce and plans for the company going forward.

aew being profitable will likely come down to the same things WWE has, that is the television deal, branding, and streaming. house shows are not profitable.

They have realized revenue on their sheets too. The Peacock sale was a one-time $1B deal, and while they have the latter part of the Saudi deal in play, once both of those are gone they'll be heavily leaning on either their next TV deal and/or a total sale.
