He makes money the same way any other podcast makes money: selling ads. All the advertisers care about is number of downloads and the demographics. His podcasts do good numbers and its mostly white men in their 30's and 40's, aka the people that have the most money. Advertisers will pay handsomely to reach them.

Conrad is a carny, but at least he's humble about it. The only reason we really know that he's loaded is because people like Prichard, Flair, etc. like to shout from the hilltops about how much money Conrad has and how big his house is. Brian Last, on the other hand, goes to great lengths to try to convince strangers that he has lots of investments, is a big time music producer (he was briefly an assistant at Sony), reads lots of books, knows wrestlers, and is just all around a super amazing and successful cool guy!

I realised with the most recent one with JR that he's now selling even more ad space. Used to be one, maybe two ads in a row. I counted four in a row, and 6 or 7 ad segments.
Guy's been "on holiday" with the jabs recently so maybe he needs the money for the medical bills he wouldn't have had if he didn't take the jabs and wasn't fat.

JR often says Meltzer didn't quite get it and he gives nuanced explanations on why Meltzer was off that day or what made his rating perhaps a little high when you know what went on behind the curtain.

If I gave enough of a shit and if the shows were worth archiving, I'd write a machine learning algorithm to identify ad reads from the transcripts of these shows and automatically prune + reupload the podcasts somewhere. This would probably cut fat fuck Conrad's runtimes by half though.
