I don't understand what was bad. He got a free managerial role, probably didn't have to do anything but sit in the back. He went back to teaching like a year later.

It's funny because Shane Douglas was a massive mark who thought he was a big deal in wrestling only to end up working at Target. Like seriously, listen to any of his promos, the guy is so full of himself you'd think he was Triple H merged with Flair.

This is true. He’s a huge Mark. He’s also seething because Triple H essentially stole his whole 96-98 ECW Persona and used it for the Blueprint of his post-DX Pre reign of terror gimmick.

I have no idea why people say this. They wore the same hat once but that is about as far as the similarities between shane douglas and triple h go. Shane douglas hardly had a gimmick besides shouty promos. There wasnt much to steal. The game and the franchise arent really similar nicknames either apart from the word "the"

Early, "The Game" gimmick was literally the same shouty promos. HHH should suck Foley's dick everyday because he was the one that got him out of that funk. But from May 99- Dec 99, HHH was fucking insufferable because his promos were incessant bitching, whining and shouting about nothing.

That's the same shit that happened to Douglas. He was great in 96, but from 97 and on he kept bitching and moaning about shouting about shit that nobody cared about.
