AEW in general is the culprit.
Cody Miro Danielson etc had more success and public relevancy in WWE for example, the risk of working there and being a potential jobber is still worth it compared to floundering in AEW and getting nowhere, right now there's too many guys in line to hold the AEW world title so Darby's best bet is unironically WWE (Vince is cool with Jeff Hardy types)

Darby got over and became a massive star and now he is used to make other stars, that's how wrestling works. Darby is not a believable world title champ and has already had one of the best TNT runs in the company so his current position is exactly where he should be.

No, Darby should be used to move business and draw. Which, he mostly is. He's consistently used in TV main events. Eventually, he should be a champion of some kind again, TNT or maybe Trios when they introduce those, but it's not the right time for that because they're telling other stories with the TNT title right now.
