>>5125130I actually really like the Miz. I used to not particularly care for him because let's be honest, he was surrounded by far bigger stars. Cornette, back when he was still respected, used to shit on Miz too, so that colored my perception as well.
But I would say, sometime after Punk left, I became a fan of him. His body had filled out a bit and the general landscape of wrestlers were smaller, so he didn't seem like such a skinny geek. And he cut some rather shooty promos vs Cena, which admittedly, was basically just rehashing Punk's promos on Cena. And then of course, there was the infamous promo vs Daniels. At one time, he was probably legit the best total package in the company. I mean, Roman was either a babyface who wasn't really connecting or he was out for whatever medical reason. Brock, who depended entirely on Heyman to talk for him, was a part timer. I mean, who else was there? New Day? A group act. AJ? Known for his matches, not his promos. Shinsuke? Cesaro? Neither got company support.
So being Miz 2.0 isn't actually an insult. But on the other hand, he's seldom out of that uppercard position. At least he's better than Dolph, in that he could occasionally be pushed to the main event if there was absolutely no other available option.
