Why did Brock have to lose here? He's the best he's been in years but we have to keep dealing with the same "ACKNOWLEDGE ME" promos for the next year.

Well one thing you can do from here is to start having Brock job to other guys, especially if he's only gonna be around for another year or two. And if a guy can get a clean win over him at next year's Mania, well that's something Roman couldn't even do. Then you'd have something you could easily work into an angle with your top star.

They told no story at all, for a match that was built over 6 months.
Literally just finisher spam and the same barricade spot they do multiple times a year.

Roman and Brock are both very good wrestlers and could at the very least tell a story in a match or show any psychology at all.
For the "Greatest Main Event in Wrestlemania Ever" this seemed like some dark match in a flyover state.

Brock didn't need to beat Roman. We didn't need this match. The WM34 match should have ended this feud.
Congratulations to WWE. They were at least 4 years late but they finally managed to have Lesnar and Goldberg beat.
Now step aside and look at how they make this match completely meaningless by making Brock fight Roman again and win at Backlash.
