collectibles like cards have always had value because people collect them, it's becoming more prevalent because some people do see these things as investment opportunities, and like penny stocks if you know what you're doing you can actually make some pretty decent money

card games in general have a lot of nostalgia and shit attached to them so people in their 30s (the people who actually have disposable income unlike the 18-25s) buy that shit up
