>>5161390How to book Cody Rhodes.
Make him appear like an outsider. All of the heels he takes on should resent him because he hasn't been a WWE guy for the past six years.
They constantly remind him that he's in the BIG LEAGUES NOW.
They're all very authoritative in nature. Meanwhile, Cody consistently jokes about the Stardust gimmick, talks about being buried because people in WWE didn't believe in him and just breaks the fourth wall about everything. He is entirely rebellious in nature.
Cody makes things very clear. He has a huge chip on his shoulder. He was never taken seriously in WWE because he wasn't given the opportunity. He had to make those opportunities for himself elsewhere. And he intends to fight with everything he's got to make sure he finishes what he set out to do years ago.
He takes on Seth for a while, but then he moves on to Damian Priest, who has taken the US championship belt from Finn Balor. Cody goes over Priest and wins the US championship.
He ends up being fucked over and loses the championship because of Shane McMahon acting on orders from his father.
Shane makes it very clear to Cody that while his father was initially happy about Cody being in WWE because it meant he wrestled him away from the competition. No such thing is going to continue to happen.
"WE ARE GOING TO BURY YOU." Shane does coast to coast to put Cody Rhodes out of action for months.
Cody returns at the Royal Rumble. Cody enters at #15 and puts on a show. But then entrant 30 comes out and the crowd loses it. It's John Cena. After some crazy spots where people start believing Cena is gonna go over, Cody shocks the crowd and throws John over the top rope and wins. He will face Roman Reigns for the WWE championship at WrestleMania.
