People don't like Cody because he's trying too hard. He comes across as fake and people can fucking tell that shit. It's surprising how a lot of the of Dreamworks movies that came out around that time had incomparable soul with their storytelling, visuals, and characters. Kung Fu Panda 2 is one of the best animated films in recent years and that's a shoot brother.

Kinda this. I did like how he found a way to work literally everyone, and even then there were times they cheered him like the promo before his ladder match with Sammy. But most times he would get into the ring, this hatred would overshadow the entire match and bring the other wrestlers down. I remember when Malakai Black was over as fuck during the program he had with Cody, but as soon as that third match came and went he fell down the card. I wish Cody well and I'll miss the gimmick, but he should keep it retired.
