Jay was on loan from New Japan while we was working Strong shows so it didn't make sense to feature him heavily when he'd have to leave again, same shit happened with Kenta.

Well for one, he said Forbidden Door about Keith Lee for on reason at all and then he had to try and get an NJPW guy really quick short-notice. Jay is the biggest name in the US that NJPW has at the moment and he was there.

But of course, Jay has like 2-3 years left on his contract with NJPW. So it isn't a signing. And it isn't really a debut. He's just there for a match and like a segment with the Bucks that hasn't gone anywhere and has never been followed up (Tony does this sometimes).

What’s weird is Tony was on busted open radio after the debut and teased a big storyline with Jay, omega, the bucks and cole. Like soon, he made it seem like a bullet club storyline was happening. Then the news broke about omega being in worse shape then they thought. Now it seems they’re moving away from the storyline with the bucks and cole infighting

They better hurry because Kevin Kelly accidentally spoiled Jay returning to Japan on the most recent NJPW show. He said Jay would be "returning home in search of prizes" soon, so it's pretty much confirmed he's back to Japan for the G1.

It's going to be hard to rush a Bullet Club storyline in that amount of time unless Tony plans on sending people for the G1 as well which IS possible, I guess.

You're still forced to do a mandatory 2 week isolation every time you enter/leave the country. Jay traveled back to the US constantly so COVID has really fucked his whole routine up. He's been trying to get US citizenship but going to Japan is such a commitment now and has such a long minimum visit attached to it, that he decided to stay in America for a while and work Strong.
But he'll be going back to Japan soon apparently for the G1.

Should have booked Keith totally decimating Team Tazz, culminating in a Keith Lee vs Hook match, with Hook going over clean in his first long/tough non-squash.

Instead we took the highest potential player for the future of the company, HOOK himself, and disappeared him from TV for a few weeks before dropping him into a feud with a jokehausen characterhausen. TOTALLY squandered HOOK's early potential, might have even killed his rise to stardom entirely but we'll see.
Keith is buddying up with Swerve to take on dudes he should be going over alone. Jay Lethal is jobbing to Atom Smol. Jay White got zero pop because they paired him with fucking Trent instead of a real, fresh competitor that would have drawn heat.

No. It's largely because some of us were willing to give it a chance and wanted an escape and sports-based alternative to WWE's entertainment bullshit. What we ended up getting was TNA 2.0 with a budget. The blocking from Twitter and Plebbit largely came from the insane stans who put the EVPs, Khan and Memeltzer on a gold pedestal and people who saw through AEW's presentation were criticizing it.

Don't get me wrong, Vince is a jagoff who pissed off a lot of fans and made them quit wrestling or at least jump ship. However, just because he did things that turned you off doesn't mean the company needs to replicate them, but worse.

But I will say that I still think the vast majority of AEW criticism that gets thrown around on /pw/ is extremely weak shit that comes across as either butthurt or trolling. I hope Tony just gets burnt out in a year or two and puts other people in charge of creative and booking for a while. Just to see how different it might be.
