>>5188797Because he's a guy that works better in a WWE environment. His thing is presentation and character arc over pure wrestling. It doesn't do as much for the baby sensory video enjoyers because it forces them to use their brains to think about what they're actually seeing. As opposed to 2 guys just going in and breaking their goddamn necks at lightning speed, where you can literally just turn your brain off and drool while seeing it happen without having to process it.
Note I don't think Cody is anything special but there was a nuance to him that a typical AEW audience member just can't process.
