He literally hasn't been seen since so it stands to reason that he is currently being punished for going against the script. Really, it's an insurance liability thing. He could've royally fucked them over if he had actually died.

They had him on that New Japan podcast w/Tanahashi which they were advertising during intermission all month last month. If he is punished and it's not all just a work it just means he won't be trusted to wrestle on his own again
