NXT: The whole promotion was smark bait, Cole got a lot of props from smarks so they pushed him. They also liked his look, thinking him handsome.
AEW: More smark bait stuff, plus he is friends with the higher ups and the owner is a total mark.
He doesn't have a great look, too small and no mass. He has a pretty face but that's it, gear sucks too. His matches are generic, copy/paste shit we've seen far too much of. He is however a decent to good promo and has a catchphrase. That goes a long way as we know.
