Vince meanwhile doesn't see ANYTHING in Dexter. Note that he originally wanted to waste Dexter in Retribution and Dexter only survived that fate worse than death through Hunter sacrificing the career of Shane Thorne and Dominik Dijakovic to become Slapjack and T-Bar. And later on, Dexter was spared being brought to the main roster purely to be Roman's bitch boy (as Vince had run out of people to job to Roman) by Hammer herself, who made it clear that NXT's future on TV hinged on Dexter remaining exclusive to the NXT brand not being sent off to Smackdown to be slaughtered.
So he's booking Dexter as a literal fuckboy these last couple of months purely to appease Vince, since that is what Vince sees Dexter as being to USA Network. A fuckboy who Bonnie Hammer (who Vince needs to keep happy) wants to sleep with.
