AEW had a lot of really bad debuts early on, I don't think anyone in the company really knew how to do them. It sounds like cope, but it's kind of hard to plan out debuts for people who most of the audience wouldn't know like Butcher/Blade, Dark Order early on, etc. I still don't like how they did Mercedes Martinez, but maybe I'm underestimating how many people knew her beforehand.
They've done a lot better know that's for sure
