ESPN and ABC are owned by the same company. Disney. Disney was interested in buying WWE and adding it to ESPN+'s package of content before the Peacock deal happened. They would not be interested in something like AEW at all. Not only because of the style and quality of the content but because Disney is still majority owner of Hulu and Hulu has extensive deals with WWE networks like USA and FOX.
