The reality is that there are two types of fans of wrestling in Japan that dominate their respective markets in today's society
>Female fans who are into fujoshii and BL and use male wrestling (NJPW, Dragon Gate, DDT, etc.) as gateway entertainment into their fetishes>Male fans who are into the idol stereotype of entertainment and use joshi wrestling as gateway for their ideal entertainmentThere are gender swaps of both that corner pockets of the other demographics feds but Japan is just too segregated to make the change that would merge the two demographics into one
