AEW doesn't have a midcard scene. The stars go over the low card guys and the low card guys will never stop being jobbers because when they aren't jobbing on TV they're winning on the youtube show
Guys like The Blonds and Powerhouse Hobbs should be getting wins on TV every so often. At first they'll be who vs who matches but in a couple of months they'll have a good base of guys to fall back into when they can't fill the show with main eventers or title matches

Ranking's merely an excuse to give people a reason to care about a wrestler when they come up, allowing for rotation at upper card level so that the big matches can be scheduled for bigger events. It's just that.
Punk is on the rise, he's in top-5. Cole and Sammy are above Kaz because they're demanding for a match against the champions. Hangman was #1 but never asked for a match against Kenny for months. It's just another way to convey a story.

What a stupid question. Because (a) it gives the ultrahardcores a reason to watch dark and (b) midcard vs jobber or midcard vs midcard matches don't draw with the larger tv audience.
