Wrestling is so much cheaper to produce than actual original programming. A comedy or drama series is going to cost you upwards of 1 million dollars per episode, to maybe get you 12 weeks worth of programming out of a 52 week year. And it's all about original content these days. Everybody wants as much original content on their streaming service as possible -- their goal is to have gigantic libraries.

Think about that for a second. A single weekly pro-wrestling show gives you 52 episodes a year more or less. If you have two shows from the same company, that's over 200 fucking hours of programming of ORIGINAL CONTENT produced yearly. Wrestling is way cheaper to make and produces a shitload of original programming, and you think television stations don't want that? They don't even have to make the content themselves, kek.

Do you think MTV wouldn't prefer having more original programming, OP? Of course they would, so they could add more content to their parent company's streaming service. It's just prohibitively expensive for them to produce when they can just do this instead, so they just do this.

All this proves is that cable tv is a barren wasteland of reruns. Its not even a new thing. G4 killed itself by showing COPS marathons all day. And this was back in 2010 or somewhere around that time. If anything tbs should be glad they got something that gets them on the ratings charts during primetime

Bro, that's not the same thing as producing new content. That's a fixed sum. AEW adds two hundred hours of original content a year, that's a very lucrative thing.

Just saying, both WWE and AEW are highly desirable to television networks and I expect both of them to renew their TV contracts before they expire.
