In both these guys' case, I can't tell the percentage of how much of it is them just not giving a shit anymore/being too old and busted and how much of it is WWE booking and agenting their matches like garbage.

But yeah, at least AJ Styles has like a really good match once every year and a half. Nakamura had the incredible NXT debut against Sami Zayn and then never got to that "Prime Nakamura straight out of New Japan" level again.
