Fiend's first match (vs Balor at Summerlsam) was great. Short and sweet and really got across Fiend as a threat. That's what most pro-wrestling should be. There's a time and a place for workrate shit (Japan, basically, and only the guys who are capable of it). But the rest of the place and time, and guys, should do plot device matches, short and sweet, attitude era style. In the attitude era, the stories and weekly shows werent setups for the matches. it was the other way around, matches were basically setups, plot devices, for the non match parts of the show, the stories, the drama. the matches served the story, as a sports themed soap opera should be. thats peak american wrestling, thats peak 'sports entertainment', thats what wwe should be. the modern era has the equation completely upside down and thats why american wrestling is dogshit right now. fiend was a throwback to that era. of course vince couldnt bear to actually do something good in this day and age, lest it infect the rest of his (((product))), so he canned bray.
