>>5352116>Will someone PLEASE explain the "state mandated bumps" one?ok ill bite: Back in the day certain states would ban certain Pro Wrestling actions and moves, like blading and jumping off the top rope. Vice Versa, to be considered "professional Wresting" Certain things would have to be defined in the ring.
State atheletic commisions have different restrictions and policies for a variety of sports, and since Pro Wrestling isnt the only sport that takes place in the ring, It has to define itself in various ways. example: Boxing and MMA require a State authorized Doctors and 1 Ambulance to be at ringside/backstage (paid for by the promoter), but Pro Wrestling doesnt. That could save the promotor anywhere around 2K-5K which can be a fortune for smaller Indy Feds.
I dont think bump is the right word, and laws have changed. Some states would maybe require things like wearing knee pads or something, certain shoes could and could not be worn int he ring. As far as wording goes, not
100%, sure but like I think some states at one point required all matches to start off with a Head and arm Lock up. Or since Boxing doesnt allow Bodyslams, for it to be considered wrestling, 1 Body slam would have to be performed per match, so the confrontation wouldnt be considered a shoot.
