He's a decent hand in the ring, he's actually really good at putting matches together and by all accounts is a great guy backstage. He'll probably be a GOAT roadagent when he retires.
It's just seeing him in a main event spot that is weird. He is one of the least physically intimidating wrestlers I've ever seen that weren't comedy jobbers.
