Chris Benoit was killed by the WWE and by proxy the cabal. The cabal had his best friend, Eddie Guerrero, killed for breaking the rules and Chris became a loose cannon after that. He was 2 days away from blowing up the whole thing before he was killed in a ritualistic art murder.
