Discovery is in cost cutting mode. they're not going to pay MORE for the second place pro wrestling company when WWE can get better and bigger sponsorship deals and has more mainstream equity.
they own big bang theory. it costs them nothing to air reruns of it. and it gets better viewership, better demos and better ad rates.
the most cost effective option for Discovery is to just buy AEW. it'll be cheaper than paying tony khan for the "right" to air it
