Aewtists have Vince Derangement Syndrome (VDS), that term was coined for a reason. I agree that theirs's autism on both sides but the "iwc" has always backed whatever they thought would stick it to vince the most. TNA, ROH, NXT, NJPW, AEW all had major popularity spikes in the IWC when they were the most viable competitor to Vince. I don't think many have deep emotional attachment to a 3 year old company, but they do have an emotional attachment to what WWE used to be and think that Vince took it away so they back whoever will get their revenge. It's why they moved companies so much and why nobody talks about ROH, NXT 1.0, Impact or NJPW nearly as much now that AEW is around

AEW fans just want to watch a good fake fight show with good matches, it's a viable market. UFC is a testament to this.
They don't care about the vaudeville aspect of wrestling that a lot of WWE fans adore and it tunes them out.
