>>5381947We've already seen at least one example of Yuta being able to connect with the crowd in a meaningful way and move business, the episode of Rampage where he fought Moxley is the highest rated one in like 6 months and pulled the show out of a pretty long funk that it had been going through. It's clearly at least worth following up on to see if he can become the kind of talent that can do that consistently.
Moreover, YOU'RE missing the point. Whether or not every "young guy" Khan pushes has the potential to be a bona fide PPV main event, TV ratings moving star, you still have to be pushing young people all the time. You have to pick guys you think can make it and see what you can get out of them. You have to be constantly trying to elevate people. You have to invest at least some of your TV time to try and get the people on your roster that you believe in over, because the people that are already over aren't going to be there forever. And even if Yuta's ceiling is just a midcarder, so what? You need midcarders. You need a roster. You need a variety of different people at different levels that the audience finds credible. That's why the complaint that "AEW is signing too many guys!" is a stupid one. You need depth. You need a roster. You need to build people. That's how a wrestling company survives long term.
