>>5397516This is why wrestling sucks in the US these days and why Kenny was 1000 times the champion this fool is. Because wrestlers know they gotta play a character, they gotta feel comfortable being someone other than themselves. Kenny is a geek who plays videogames all the time but no one cares, because that's not his in-ring persona. He can be an asshole heel, shit on others, dress with awful designer clothes and rock the worst moustache in human history, because he knows that to get over in this business you gotta learn to ACT, which means, pretend you're other people, people you might dislike playing, because they are important roles in the stories you're telling in the show.
But when 90% of wrestlers in america are literally: "My character is... my real personality hehe" you end up with these booooring people. I am against wrestlers having creative freedom regarding their personas if all of them are just themselves, only a few select people deserve that benefit. Look at Miro, he was a menace, and now he looks like a freaking clown with that plain shirt, shorts and blonde hair, Miro the streamer being himself, how fucking boring.
Some guys truly don't deserve that freedom, and need guidance.
