Then why not just watch New Japan? This will be a mediocre card compared to a proper NJPW or aew ppv and most aew guys have already been in njpw before so there are no real dream matches

I've watched WWE / AEW since late 20/early 21. AEW pairing up with RoH and NJPW is going to get me to watch their stuff as long as it's connected to AEW in some form or fashion. I haven't watched either of those products previously. Change and progress, even if small, is still good in terms of helping wrestling stay alive. The fanbase and market is so damn tiny compared to when I use to watch in middle school in the mid to late 90's as only a WCW fan.

the no cheering isn't just wrestling, its every public event and its a government mandate. no noise at concerts or anything either.
they stopped enforcing half capacity a while ago, they simply can't draw and their pre-corona fans have not returned. they did 800 or so in korakuen last month once and that was their best attendance. usually they still do 300-500 just like during covid lockdowns despite them lifting all crowd restrictions
