They introduced a lot of elements that got either dropped or perverted. The angle was supposed to be that R-Truth is trying to earn the respect of his son who worships John Cena but the only reason he never got a chance to be on that level is systemic racism. What it turned into was R-Truth having an imaginary friend who is a small child and being crazy but also mad with jealousy. Then he forms a tag team with the Miz with their only purpose being to lose to Cena and the Rock. Then crazy old R-Truth becomes nothing but a comedy gimmick and has stayed that way since. First black NWA champion now just coons for a living.

People during this time were pumped for the 'new people' and smarks were rooting for people like Ziggler. WM26 to 28 was PG era as fuk but not that bad relatively. 28-31 started having really good shit. Also OP is from when crowds were still actually normal and not total smark meltdowns that soon came.

I stopped watching in 2009 and would occasionally check out some results here and there after that bit by 2011 when I saw that Miz and Dolph were fucking main eventers and shit I was like I'm done. I only came back after the WWE network launched.
