They got Al Michaels on pbp and Kirk Herbsteit as color, so there's no reason he can't do what he's already doing on SD. He talks football and interviews for 3+ hours every day, he could very just be a 3rd guy in the booth ab libbing without dedicating the entire week to prep for the broadcast.

Have you ever heard an NFL broadcaster or analyst speak before? That's exactly what it sounds like they do. They never go in depth about the plays or explain all the little routes and blocks of a play that a casual wouldn't understand, they just say buzz phrases like "he wanted it more" or "X team or player is hungrier"
