Nah it was different. NJPW were beginning a western expansion (including a number of shows including potential PPVs) and they lost all their big hitting westerners. I can understand why they were salty, Kenny and the Bucks leaving to start what is basically a competing fed to their expansion essentially fucked them out of natural growth

The Bucks have never been a major draw or player in a major fed. They dominate in the indies because it is the only place where they have any leverage to politick. If you don't let them go over and do their shit they won't do a show, and that puts pressure on these smaller places to simply not book anyone who isn't their friend. That shit doesnt work in major feds. We've seem them go several different feds, with different styles, and fail in each. The only exception is AEW which is literally a fed where they are VP's. They have no natural ability to get over and never will. Simple as.
