People shit on it but AEW's ranking system is genuinely great because it puts stakes on every single match. If you win, you can slowly but surely move up the rankings, but if you lose you could possibly plummet and lose your shot at a title. That being said the way AEW Dark handles the rankings needs to be overworked. Make it worth half as much or something.

AEW has its own problems but the ranking system isn’t a bad idea
The only problem is people don’t show up on dynamite for months then grind wins on dark and suddenly they’re competing for a title
Tony basically buried Marina because he didn’t give her any chance for the audience to care about her before she got thrown in a match with Jade

This the problem with talents grinding for wins on Dark is that Tony assumes that everyone watch the youtube shows. He should balance things for a bit:
> have wrestler gets a few wins on Dark
> then have him accumulates wins on Rampage and Dynamite for a few weeks
> then challenge for the belt
and there we go. That way, his challenge doesn't come from no-where and people can get invested to him for a few weeks.
