i will put up Gino Hernandez, a great heel in texas in the early to mid 80s that died of a drug overdose in 1986

Gino would have been 37 years old when vince put belt on bret. I think biggest issue whit that era of wwe was that there weren't any dynamic top heels. I think that's why brets and hbk runs fell flat.

The problem is that the way he was booked was a very japanese-style hoss but there was money to be made.

Another thing people don't consider is he was broken down to shit when the Brawl For All happened in 1999. He worked that King's Road style for 9 years as a main eventer up to that point.

Sting would have still been a star and we would have still had Nitro. WCW would have just had another big star. Given how star studded the roster would become, I don't know how much of a difference it would have made.

Interdasting anecdote: Macho Man, at the height of his popularity with the NWO in WCW, worked a random Saturday Night card and got to pick his opponent. He handpicked Bobby and sold his ass off for him because that's how much he respected him. This wasn't part of a storyline or anything; Macho just wanted to have a great match with someone he respected.

NWA WCW from 85-88 is also a great watch and its all on youtube

you could also try dangerous alliance era wcw in 1992, the top show then was wcw saturday night and im pretty sure alot of its on youtube
