>>5468644The problem with Hollywood, and gaming to a certain extent is that they ran out of ideas and are focused on exploiting the consumer and going nuts with remakes/remasters, whereas with WWE it's whatever the fuck Vince wants. There's some crossover between that but Vince doesn't seem to give a shit about anyone else's opinion except his.
AEW, while having its share of faults, I think is the better product overall, and most of the people who talk shit to it either won't give it (or any other fed) the time of day and treat it like a console war.
For me, AEW's future relies most heavily on their game being a hit above anything else Tony or the shows can muster. Most people don't remember but the PS1/N64 games were how a lot of more eyes got on the product. WCW was getting more popular mainly because of the obvious NWO introduction but a lot of it was due to the games being very good, easy to pick up, and multiplayer being fun.
>>5468755There's a lot of stupid shit without question, but it seems like TK will (for better or worse) gauge the audience and online response to certain angles and pushes and try to correct the ship accordingly. There's still way too much indie shit with the Bucks and Adam Cole, but even their most outspoken critics can say it's more good than bad overall.
The numbers bit I explained in the above reply, and as far as the indie stuff goes, we'll have to see what happens with ROH, but covid absolutely destroyed the indies to the point where a lot of them either went on hiatus, merged or outright folded. There's way too much product from WWE/AEW to expect the average fan to keep up with everything, which is why I tend to just watch Dynamite/PPVs.
>WWE's quarterly is next week, and as I've done every other previous quarter, I buy option calls for them and end up making a bunch of fucking money even though I hate the product. I paid for my DoN first class flight and tickets with the last one, I'll do the same for Forbidden Door.
