Nobody needs to see Punk vs Dustin for 17 FUCKING minutes, that should have been 6-8 maximum. Get your signature offense in, play to the crowd a bit, one commercial break, come back, hit the finisher. DONE. With a roster that size you can't afford to have one match of 40+ year olds taking up nearly 25% of your TV time, including entrances.
The shit is ridiculous. Add that to the fact they outright refuse to have Triple Threats, 4 Way Matches, etc. Every new title contender either marches to the ring and demands a title shot (Adam Cole) - or their fake and gay ranking system awards them a title shot (Scorpio).
What about trading in the TV Title for a Title shot? What about a battle royal? Have they had a single lumberjack match yet? Special guest referee, first blood, submission match, I quit match, 2 out of 3 falls, ironman...nothing?? We get: 1v1 normal, 1v1 street fight, 1v1 ladder, 2v2 normal, or 3+ vs 3+ normal -- and that's 98% of the matches. Just boring as shit.
They're trying to combine ROH in-ring work with late 90s WCW shenanigans outside of it. It's the worst combination possible. Oh no the heels just blew a FUCKING FIREBALL in someone's face! But he won't be suspended or fined or kept off TV, no. The punishment will be a match on TV a few weeks from now! Surely that will make him learn his lesson!
The absolute BEST way to take the title off Page is to have him in triple threat where he hits his finisher, gets thrown out of the ring, and the heel pins the other face and wins the strap. He loses without being pinned, so he doesn't lose any momentum, nobody can say he was "buried" - and the chase is immediately back on.
