I knew it was over the second he got to AEW, and it was this big pre-announced return, and he delivered a "I'm just happy to be here so I can put over the younger guys" promo with a goofy smile on his face only for his first feud to be with the "I like turtles" zombie kid for absolutely no reason. He should have been pushed to the top right away, his return was the only time people outside of AEW's fanbase were talking about AEW since their pilot episode. In his first promo he should have called everyone out and claimed that he was in AEW to be the best in world and to be a revolutionary, plain and simple, no nice guy goofy smile shit. Punk was never a nice guy, his whole career he thought he was better than everyone around him whether it be because of his talent, his championship, or for being straight edge. Tony ruined Bryan too, and now they have him in some gay faction with Moxley, Regal and some hapa faggot. It's just embarrassing how bad AEW's booking is, it's like common sense booking is lost on them or something.

It was the WWE of yesteryear we all liked, and from the time Punk cut the pipe bomb, we weren't cheering and crazy for him, we were avid about the premise of Punk being the figurehead to push WWE back into the attitude era and give us ice cream bars and champions we liked.

Punk was just the mutual friend getting our ex checked into rehab that we were aidly rooting for because we were still in love with who they once were.
