Disco understood wrestling and what his role was. He was a funny jobber and knew that. He just had to go entertain and have a decent little TV match. He was a ratings draw with competition, that's as much as you can ask.
He was one of the best comedy jobbers of his day. He was a good wrestler in everything but having five star barnburners, which he didn't need to. That wasn't his job. That this is supposed to be an insult to him is only said by shortsighted marks who think they get wrestling.
There's little difference between him and somebody like Orange Cassidy now. If Disco was making a name in the indies today he would have indie marks slurping his balls and hyping/overrating him too.
