The booking has been pretty bad the last few years. While the roster has some really good wrestlers, the last couple of years they have fired some other great ones and forced others to retire, in favor of some who aren't as good but are more attractive.
Whether you like Stardom or not depends on how much you like stable warfare, since most of the promotion is now based on stables. It didn't use to be like that, but sadly it's the way it is nowadays.
Recently Stardom made both Japanese fans and other wrestlers seethe due to some controversy surrounding one of its wrestlers. Stardom's owners paid for said wrestler to be featured on the cover of a Japanese pro wrestling magazine, and while she was one of the main eventers (the main event being a 3 vs 3 tag team match), the show was a celebration of Korakuen Hall's 60th anniversary (a very important venue in Japanese pro wrestling history.)
In other words, while there are some good matches in Stardom it's devolved into just another coomer fed. Fanboys will pretend it's not, but it's basically just idols pretend fighting, which is the case for some other joshi promotions as well.
