The whole "wrestling is for everyone" movement in the independent scene in the past few years is responsible too. When a new promotion starts that caters to that indie audience, you'll get a lot of those people as a die-hard fanbase.
I'd say it's a very vocal minority of aew fans that are like that. Ones that bitch and whine on Twitter, Reddit and YouTube about every little thing that could be perceived as offensive.
