The question is why is it not doing better on a nationally broadcast station. Not if it's doing "fine". It can not crack a million viewers. For comparison the first round of the NBA playoffs did 4-5 million viewers on TNT. Literal niggers get 4-5 million but this show can't crack a million despite its fans saying it is selling out stadiums because of the demand for the product. If the demand is so high and so extensive then being on TNT, a big platform, should be doing higher numbers no?

The difference is that raw and smackdown have been on a very consistent decline for decades at this point, showing an obvious downward trend in the popularity of wrestling overall. AEW is brand new to the market and managed to squeeze ~950k weekly viewers out of a diminishing pool of viewers. That's why AEW has gotten pretty consistent praise from network people in general

If WWE's programming was on a downward trajectory then why did it collect $2 billion collectively from two separate TV deals from two separate TV networks? That would suggest that TV networks know less than Dave Meltzer or the average TV fan. NBC purchased the TV rights to WWE to bolster its streaming platform which is an even larger investment and sign of confidence. And Disney has purchased some of the international rights to broadcast WWE on its Disney+ platform. The trajectory isn't down with WWE ratings, its down with smarks and the fact that those people became invested in "ratings and demos" because of what Meltzer told them to think. Neilsen doesn't measure streaming in anyway shape or form, one of the reasons networks are trying to get rid of it and have already begun using their own metrics to sell ad space. Wrestling fans don't get TV. WWE is shown on Hulu's basic package which has 43 million users. In comparison, AEW is on Hulu Live which only has 4 million.

Ratings have been going down for everything, including football, which had been the only programming that was immune to ratings swings. The reason? Streaming and the fact people have more to watch and can watch when they want instead of at set times. Which is why Neilsen has lost its accreditation as people do not watch TV at set times, from a set top box anymore. Stay mad and ignorant.

That is absolutely false. The only streaming platform without any advertising is Netflix, EVERY streaming platform has advertising. You have to pay extra to remove it. The paying extra is to make up the cost of the ad space they normally sell.

Ask yourself this. The key demo is 18-49 year olds right? Do you think many 18-49 year olds watch tv from set top boxes and preset times or do they stream it when they want from a number of devices?

Again false. One you're basing their key demo rating on a Neislen rating that doesnt take into account streaming. That's already nonsensical. Two they are not on enough streaming platforms to make a dent in terms of streaming numbers. Again WWE is on

WWE is exposed to ten times the audience AEW is. Does that mean all those people are watching WWE or AEW? Of course not. But to think that ten times the auidence means they are getting the same or less than AEW is nonsensical. The final proof are the networks themselves. Two separate networks are not going to invest a billion a piece into content that is " not doing well" or is "on a downward trend". They have the numbers and figures we don't have access to and made that decision. Im going to guess they know more. Now if AEW gets picked up buy this new Warner/Discovery merger maybe some even footing can be had.

It is not supplemented by metadata. The metadata completely replaces the need for Neilsen, as broadcasters are moving to the streaming world where there are more viewers and where viewers are moving to. The proof of this is the fact that every major broadcaster has created a streaming platform already. And further proof are found in, ironically, the Warner Discovery merger which is a $43 billion deal. That is in the hopes of competing with platforms like Netflix and Disney. Neilsen has been dead for 5 years now, as the major players in streaming platforms use their own internal data to set ad prices.

NFL: 14.1m to 16.5m
NBA (finals): 2.9m to 2.2m
MLB: 11.9m to 8.1m
Raw: 3.8m to 1.9m

No it's not. Cable companies and networks have long since had their own data collection tools. The only people fighting for Neilsen are advertising firms and the companies they represent because Neilsen's incomplete data keeps advertising costs from rising higher than they already are.
