They did the fucking Steve Austin VS Bret Hart finish on him.
It was so ridiculously overdone for where Yuta was on the card literally one month before.

I'm not shitting on Yuta, I think the guy has potential and look forward to seeing what he can do in BOSJ, but AEW is usually way more subtle than this. It's hard to believe these were the same guys that booked Adam Page's rise, for example.

No, but I do think it should be not forced as shit. The guy was a jobber, got slapped by William Regal then 2 weeks later was doing the Austin gimmick 2 weeks in a row. You don't need to go overboard for it to work. And AEW understands this.
